Candle Care and Safety: Before, During and After Each Burn
A scented candle needs a safe setting and attention throughout use. Read the product label before the first lighting, keep it available and follow its directions for that candle. Fragrance names, decorative containers and product photographs cannot replace those instructions.
Before you light the candle
Choose a level surface that tolerates heat. Clear away combustible items, keep children and pets away, and avoid air currents from windows or fans. Inspect the container for damage and remove debris from the wax. Prepare the wick according to the label while the candle is unlit and cool.
Do not assume every candle in a collection has the same wick, wax or tested burn time. If a label is missing or unclear, ask the seller for instructions before using it.
While the candle is burning
Keep watch throughout use, and put the flame out before you leave or sleep. Leave the vessel in place while the wax is melted. If the flame behaves unexpectedly or the product appears damaged, end the burn and consult its instructions once it has cooled.
Record the maximum session length stated for your specific candle. A fragrance description or an online review of another candle does not establish a suitable burning schedule for yours.
When it is time to extinguish
A suitable snuffer helps put the flame out. Never add water, and check that the wick has stopped glowing. Allow everything to cool before handling. Finish using the candle at the remaining-wax level specified in its directions.

After the candle has cooled
Keep the packaging or take a clear photograph of the safety label for future reference. Store the candle away from strong heat and direct sunlight, following any storage guidance supplied. Retain the product name when asking the seller a question.
Before repurposing the empty vessel, check what uses the maker permits. Appearance alone does not confirm suitability for food, drinks, a dishwasher or another source of heat.
Choose fragrance with care
Choose a scent for the recipient's preferences and the setting where it will be used. Scent descriptions express a fragrance character; they do not promise a health result or universal comfort. If you need details about a KSLSMALL item, contact service@kslsmall.com with its name before ordering.
